Small businesses are the backbone of our communities, providing essential goods and services that keep us going. During these uncertain times, it’s more important than ever to lend a hand and show our support for the small businesses in our neighborhoods. Here are some tips on how to do just that.

Shop Local Whenever Possible

One of the best ways to show your support for a small business is to shop local, whether it’s at your neighborhood grocery store or a boutique downtown. Shopping local keeps money in the community and helps keep small businesses afloat with your patronage. If you can’t make it out to the store or prefer not to, many local stores offer online shopping options as well.

Spread the Word

Word-of-mouth is one of the most powerful forms of advertising—and it's free! Talk up your favorite small businesses whenever you get the chance. This could be anything from posting a review online (Google or Yelp) to leaving a positive comment on their social media accounts or even just chatting with friends about how much you love their products or services. You never know who might choose to visit that particular store based on your recommendation!

Tell Everyone What You Love About Them

It’s easy to take for granted all that these small businesses do for us, but we should never forget them when they need it most. Showing appreciation goes a long way; leave reviews, write thank you notes, create stories about why you love them—all these things will help build their reputation and make potential customers more likely to give them a try.

The best way we can support small businesses is by showing our appreciation for them every step of the way—from shopping local whenever possible, spreading word-of-mouth recommendations, and telling everyone what we love about them. Showing this type of solidarity will make sure they remain an integral part of our community now and into the future!
